Lots of Paint, Profound it Ain't/ JeStem oBRaZ iDealNY

The title written above my studio door: "Lots of Paint, Profound it Ain't" is an ironic commentary on the painful truth that a painting with a lot of paint is often appreciated as more valuable than a drawing, or a painting that makes you feel as if it was painted lightly and quickly. To me, on the contrary, the value lies in the mastery of a quick, confident line of drawing and painting with one color, one brush, in the style of Japanese calligraphy masters. I follow the Japanese school.
